Chemicals can be hazardous if mishandled. Always read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for a product before you handle it. Every product page on this site links to its SDS, and our SDS library holds the full set.
Before you handle any chemical
- Read the SDS in full – especially sections on hazards, handling, storage, and first aid.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE): safety goggles, chemical-resistant gloves, lab coat or apron, and respiratory protection where indicated.
- Work in a well-ventilated area or under a fume hood for volatile or corrosive substances.
Safe storage
- Keep containers tightly closed, upright, and clearly labelled with the batch number.
- Store away from heat, direct sunlight, and ignition sources.
- Separate incompatible chemicals – e.g. keep acids away from bases and oxidisers away from flammables.
- Store out of reach of untrained persons and children.
Handling & spills
- Never eat, drink, or smoke while handling chemicals; wash hands afterwards.
- Use secondary containment when decanting or transporting.
- For spills, follow the SDS: contain, neutralise or absorb, and dispose of as hazardous waste.
Disposal & transport
Dispose of chemicals and empty containers according to the SDS and local environmental regulations – never pour hazardous chemicals down the drain. Transport of hazardous materials must follow PESO and applicable transport rules; we ship eligible items under licensed hazmat logistics.
Emergency
In case of exposure, follow the first-aid instructions on the SDS and seek medical help immediately. Keep the SDS accessible to anyone who handles the product.
