How to request a bulk chemical quote that gets a fast, accurate reply

What procurement and plant teams should include in an RFQ so suppliers can price drums, hazmat, and documentation correctly the first time.

A vague “send best rate for IPA” email slows everyone down. A complete bulk chemical RFQ lets the seller confirm grade, pack, freight, and documents in one pass.

RFQ checklist

  • Exact chemical name + preferred grade (AR / LR / HPLC / cosmetic / technical)
  • CAS number if you have it (use our CAS lookup)
  • Quantity and unit (kg / L) plus target pack (25 kg, 200 L drum, IBC…)
  • Delivery pin code and preferred timeline
  • Required documents: batch COA, SDS, GST invoice, any vendor questionnaire
  • Whether you need a sample first

After you submit

Expect confirmation of stock, pack options, freight (including hazmat where applicable), and lead time. Compare quotes on total landed cost and documentation - not list price alone. More on packaging in our pail / drum / IBC guide and supplier selection in how to choose a chemical supplier.

Open the bulk quote form or browse the catalogue for pack sizes first.

Frequently asked questions

How fast do bulk quotes usually come back?

Straightforward stock items often get a same-day or next-business-day reply when the RFQ includes grade, quantity, and pin code. Specialty grades may take longer.

Can I RFQ after buying a sample?

Yes - that is the preferred path. Note the sample SKU / batch on your RFQ so we can align the bulk grade.
