Titanium dioxide (TiO₂) is a white pigment and UV-scattering mineral. Not every white powder labelled TiO₂ is interchangeable.
Grade checklist
- Industrial pigment - coatings, plastics, paper; may not meet cosmetic impurity limits.
- Cosmetic pigment - colour/opacity in makeup and creams; confirm INCI and heavy-metal limits on COA.
- Sunscreen grades - particle size, coating, and dispersion quality matter; SPF claims require proper testing and regulatory compliance.

Particle size is grade-specific. Request the datasheet parameters before sunscreen formulation.
Can I claim SPF after adding TiO₂?
No - SPF is a tested product claim. Adding TiO₂ alone does not create a legal sunscreen claim.
