Sodium polyacrylate absorbs many times its weight in water to form a gel. Keep away from drains in large amounts; dispose of gelled waste as solid trash where local rules allow.
Steps
- Place 2 g sodium polyacrylate in a clear cup.
- Add ~200 ml water and watch the gel form over a few minutes.
- Note swell capacity; do not pour large gel masses into plumbing.
