Methylene blue stains nuclei and is a common teaching stain. Wear gloves – it dyes skin and fabric. Filter if particles remain. Dilute further for working stain as your protocol requires.
Steps
- Dissolve 1 g methylene blue powder in ~80 ml demineralised water.
- Top up to 100 ml; mix until dissolved; filter if needed.
- Label as stock; dilute to working strength before use on slides.
