Steps

Place ~800 ml cold demineralised water in a borosilicate beaker.
Add 40 g NaOH pellets slowly with stirring; cool the solution.
Transfer to a 1 L volumetric flask when cool; make up to the mark.
Label with molarity, date, and corrosive hazard.
