Hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2) raises pH in water treatment and process chemistry. Slurry settles – keep agitated. Wear PPE; lime is caustic to skin and eyes.
Steps
- Add 50 g hydrated lime slowly to ~800 ml water with stirring (avoid dust).
- Top up to 1 L; mix to a milky slurry.
- Dose into the process stream while monitoring pH; remix slurry before each use.
